Basketball Game Preview: St. Monica Mariners vs. Palos Verdes Sea Kings

Having just played yesterday, the St. Monica Mariners will get right back to it and host the Palos Verdes Sea Kings at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. Keep an eye on the score for this one: both posted some lofty point totals in their previous games.

St. Monica took a loss when they played away from home on Saturday, but their home fans gave them all the motivation they needed on Wednesday. They blew past Animo Venice, posting a 74-25 win. The Mariners have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won five games by 36 points or more this season.

Meanwhile, Palos Verdes suffered their closest loss since January 12th two weeks ago. They fell just short of Millikan by a score of 60-57. The Sea Kings have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

St. Monica's victory bumped their record up to 9-4. As for Palos Verdes, their defeat dropped their record down to 6-4.

Everything came up roses for St. Monica against Palos Verdes in their previous matchup back in November, as the team secured a 63-27 win. Will St. Monica repeat their success, or does Palos Verdes have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
