Football Game Preview: Imhotep Charter Panthers vs. West Philadelphia Speedboys

Imhotep Charter has gone a perfect 4-0 against West Philadelphia recently and they'll look to pad the win column further on Saturday. The Panthers will look to defend their home field against the Speedboys at 7:00 p.m. Imhotep Charter will be strutting in after a victory while West Philadelphia will be coming in after a loss.

Imhotep Charter is headed in fresh off scoring the most points they have all season. They blew past George Washington 58-6 on Friday. With the Panthers ahead 44-0 at the half, the game was all but over already.

Joey McLeish continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines, throwing for 223 yards and three TDs while picking up 11.2 yards per attempt. He is becoming a predictor of Imhotep Charter's success: when he posts at least three passing touchdowns the team is undefeated (and 0-3 when he doesn't). Kassan 'Sonni' Chappelle helped McLeish out on the ground, rushing for 36 yards and three scores.

Meanwhile, it was a classic East v. West duel when West Philadelphia challenged Northeast on Saturday. The Speedboys received a blow as they fell 28-12 to the Vikings. The Speedboys have struggled against the Vikings recently, as the game was their third consecutive lost matchup.

Although West Philadelphia took the loss, they still got scores from Jahsir Newsome and Ahmeir Green.

West Philadelphia now has a losing record of 2-3. As for Imhotep Charter, the win got them back to even at 3-3.

Everything came up roses for Imhotep Charter against West Philadelphia in their previous meeting back in October of 2017, as the squad secured a 50-0 victory. Do the Panthers have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Speedboys turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
