Volleyball Recap: Summit Finds Home Court Redemption Against Rifle

There's no place like home for Summit, who bounced back after a loss on the road last Thursday. They put the hurt on the Rifle Bears with a sharp 3-0 victory on Tuesday. That's the second time they've managed to beat them this season, as they also won 3-0 two weeks ago.

The final score came out to 25-13, 25-17, 25-14.

Summit found their leader in freshman Taylor Wagner, who had five aces and three digs. Those five aces set a new season-high mark for Wagner.

Summit was lethal from the service line and finished the match with 12 aces. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now served at least five aces in seven consecutive contests.

Summit's win bumped their record up to 8-11. As for Rifle, they are on a ten-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 1-13.

Summit wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next matchup, a 3-0 loss against Glenwood Springs on the 16th. As for Rifle, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next match, a 3-0 defeat against Coal Ridge on the 16th.
