League recap: Northwest Rankin scores huge upset over Murrah

The biggest upset of the week belonged to Northwest Rankin, who took down 63rd ranked Murrah, 35-28.

Adding to the longest winning streak in 6A Region 2 this week, Warren Central beat Columbus 21-14. The victory was the fourth in a row for the team.

Joseph Willis threw for 236 yards and 4 touchdowns. He went 13-18 with 0 interceptions.

Keenan Barnes was the best wideout in the league this week as Madison Central topped Greenville-Weston. Barnes racked up 6 receptions for 110 yards. T.J. Toney helped Madison Central's passing attack out by catching 3 balls for 49 yards.

The Jaguars' Willis and Barnes have formed a dream team this season, leading the league in both passing and receiving yards. 6-5 quarterback Willis has thrown for 2,136 yards this season, while Barnes has 63 catches for 1,026 yards. The Mustangs' Marquisian Chapman leads the league in rushing yards with 1,339.

Madison Central took down the Hornets 41-12 last week, the largest margin of any game. Willis ran for 19 yards in the win.
