The Lincoln County Patriots are taking a road trip to take on the School Without Walls Penguins at 11:30 a.m. on Friday. Keep an eye on the score for this one: the two teams posted some lofty run totals in their previous games.
Lincoln County made up a huge gap compared to their last game against Bourbon County, but they still couldn't quite topple them. The Patriots put the hurt on the Colonels with a sharp 12-2 win on Thursday. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Patriots.

Brennin Hazlett made a splash no matter where he played. He pitched five innings while giving up just one earned (and one unearned) run off one hit. The dominant performance also gave him a new career-high in strikeouts (five). He was also big at the plate, scoring a run while going 2-for-3. That run marked the first that he scored this season.
In other batting news, Lincoln County got a massive performance out of Sawyer Robbins, who scored two runs and stole a base while going 3-for-4. That's the most runs Robbins has posted since back in May of 2024. Another player making a difference was Jack Smith, who scored two runs while going 3-for-4.
Lincoln County always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .625. That's the best OBP they've posted all season.
Meanwhile, while School Without Walls put up plenty of runs on Wednesday, the same can't be said for Ballou. The Penguins were the clear victors by a 20-0 margin over the Knights. The Penguins haven't had any issues with the Knights recently, as the game was their eighth consecutive victory against them.
Leo Peil was a major factor while hitting and pitching. On the mound, he struck out seven batters over three innings while giving up no earned runs or hits (and only one walk). Peil was also stellar in the batter's box, scoring two runs while getting on base in three of his four plate appearances.
In other batting news, Nolan Spangenberg was a standout: he went 1-for-3 with three RBI, two runs, and one triple. Zach Daskal-Koss was another key player, scoring two runs and stealing a base while going 2-for-3.
School Without Walls' win was their sixth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 9-6. The home victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.8 runs on average over those games. As for Lincoln County, the win was their first at home , bumping their record up to 6-10.
