Basketball Recap: Beardstown Comes Up Short

Beardstown was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their third straight defeat. They were dealt a 59-31 loss at the hands of the Brown County Hornets. The Tigers were not able to make up for their defeat to the Hornets from their previous meeting back in December of 2024.

Despite the loss, Beardstown had strong showings from Zach Meyer, who posted eight points and eight boards, and Eli Brockschmidt, who put up ten points.

Beardstown's defeat dropped their record down to 1-7. As for Brown County, the victory (which was their fourth in a row) raised their record to 5-1.

Beardstown will take on Pawnee in a holiday battle at 5:00 p.m. on Monday. As for Brown County, they won't have much time to rest: their next contest is against Canton at 5:00 p.m. on Saturday.
