Basketball Game Preview: Okemos Wolves vs. Waverly Warriors

Okemos is 1-9 against Waverly since February of 2019 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Thursday. The Okemos Wolves will welcome the Waverly Warriors at 7:00 p.m.

Last Monday, Okemos came up short against Holt and fell 51-42. While losing is never fun, the Wolves can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Michigan basketball rankings (they are ranked 259th, while the Rams are ranked 46th).

Meanwhile, Waverly hadn't done well against Grand Ledge recently (they were 0-9 in their previous nine matchups), but they didn't let the past get in their way on Tuesday. Waverly sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 52-49 victory over Grand Ledge. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest win the Warriors have posted since December 13, 2024.

Okemos' defeat dropped their record down to 6-11. As for Waverly, their victory ended a four-game drought on the road and puts them at 8-8.
