Softball Recap: Pittsfield Wins Going Away Against Rushville-Industry

Pittsfield won the last time they faced Rushville-Industry and things went their way on Monday too. The Saukees were the clear victors by a 13-2 margin over the Rockets. Considering the Saukees have won ten games by more than five runs this season, Monday's blowout was nothing new.

Presley Brown was a standout: she fired off two home runs and six RBI while going 3-for-5. Those six RBI gave her a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Lila Simon, who got on base in four of her five plate appearances with one home run, two stolen bases, and two runs.

Pittsfield was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .389. They are 9-1 when they post a batting average of .375 or better.

Pittsfield's victory bumped their record up to 14-7-1. As for Rushville-Industry, their loss dropped their record down to 13-7.

Looking ahead, Pittsfield is taking a road trip to take on Pleasant Plains at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday. The Cardinals will roll in looking for their fourth straight win, something the Saukees surely won't give up without a fight. As for Rushville-Industry, they will host Hamilton at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
