Volleyball Recap: Palo Verde Takes a Loss

It's hard to turn regular season success into postseason wins, a fact Palo Verde can now relate to. They lost 3-0 to the Northwest Christian Crusaders on Thursday. The Titans have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Palo Verde took the loss but they managed to make steady progress, increasing their score in every set they played. The match finished with set scores of 25-8, 25-10, 25-19.

Northwest Christian's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Gavin Helmer led the charge by getting four digs and four aces. Another player making a difference was Trace Martin, who had 16 assists.

Palo Verde's loss dropped their record down to 9-12. As for Northwest Christian, they are on a roll lately: they've won eight of their last nine games. That's provided a nice bump to their 22-8 record this season.

As of now, neither Palo Verde nor Northwest Christian have any future games scheduled.
