Softball Recap: Cantwell-Sacred Heart of Mary Wins Going Away Against Bishop Conaty-Loretto

After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Bishop Montgomery, Cantwell-Sacred Heart of Mary was happy to have turned things around on Thursday. They put the hurt on the Bishop Conaty-Loretto Wildcats with a sharp 14-6 victory. The Cardinals haven't had any issues with the Wildcats recently, as the game was their fourth consecutive win against them.

Alyssa Ochoa was a major factor no matter where she played. On the mound, she struck out 12 batters over seven innings while giving up three earned (and three unearned) runs off five hits. Ochoa was also big at the plate, going 3-for-5 with one home run, three runs, and one double.

In other batting news, Cantwell-Sacred Heart of Mary got a massive performance out of Lilah Ramos, who scored a run and stole a base while going 2-for-5. Kaetlyn Ramirez was another key player, scoring two runs while going 2-for-4.

Cantwell-Sacred Heart of Mary's victory was their first in the league, bumping their league record up to 1-2 and their overall record up to 4-5. As for Bishop Conaty-Loretto, their loss was their third straight on the road, which dropped their record down to 6-5.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Cantwell-Sacred Heart of Mary will venture away from home to face off against St. Monica at 3:00 p.m. on Tuesday. St. Monica is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 9.4 runs per game this season. As for Bishop Conaty-Loretto, a feisty cat fight will be fought as Bishop Conaty-Loretto Wildcats duke it out with Ramona Convent Tigers at 3:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
