Softball Recap: Waskom Takes a Loss

Waskom was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their seventh straight defeat. They might be feeling deja-vu: they lost 18-0 to the Overton Mustangs, which was the same score (and result) they got the week prior. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Wildcats of the 11-4 loss they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in March of 2018.

Waskom saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Anna Grace Hicks, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with one triple. That's the most hits Hicks has posted since back in February.

Waskom's defeat dropped their record down to 5-12. As for Overton, they are on a roll lately: they've won nine of their last 12 matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 11-8-1 record this season.

While Waskom had to take the loss, they won't have to wait long to give it another shot: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 4:00 p.m. on Friday.
