Basketball Recap: Flour Bluff Starts Season with Win Against Alexander

Flour Bluff gave their fans exactly what they wanted out of a home opener on Saturday. They walked away with a 63-55 victory over the Alexander Bulldogs. The Hornets have seen this before: they got the W the last time they saw the Bulldogs, too.

When it comes to explaining why Alexander lost, don't look at Kimberly Saavedra. Despite the final result, she dropped a double-double with 11 points and 11 rebounds. The team also got some help courtesy of Eva Martinez, who posted seven points.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Flour Bluff will host Victoria East at 6:15 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Alexander, they will welcome Harker Heights at 3:30 p.m. on Thursday.
