Volleyball Recap: Rustburg Comes Up Short + How To Watch

Rustburg was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their fourth straight defeat. They lost 3-0 to the Glass Hilltoppers. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Hilltoppers this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 3-1 back in September.

Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-6, 25-18, 25-12.

Despite the loss, Rustburg saw an underclassman step up: freshman Peyton Lowes had nine digs.

Leading Glass to victory were Mary McCloskey and Elleri Turille. McCloskey had nine digs and four aces, while Turille had 27 assists and four digs. Turille is crushing it when it comes to assists: she's posted at least 14 every time she's taken the court this season.

Rustburg's defeat dropped their record down to 9-11. As for Glass, they have been performing well recently as they've won seven of their last nine matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 14-5 record this season.

Rustburg has already played their next match, a 3-0 loss against Amherst County on the 28th. As for Glass, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next contest, a 3-1 win against Brookville on the 28th.
