Basketball Recap: Beechcroft Comes Up Short

Beechcroft was the 74-59 winner over Eastmoor Academy when they last played one another back in February of 2024, but their luck changed this time around. The Beechcroft Cougars fell just short of the Eastmoor Academy Warriors by a score of 61-59 on Thursday.

Eastmoor Academy found their leader in sophomore Dekar Moultry, who went 6-for-10 to rack up 18 points.

Beechcroft has been struggling recently as they've lost three of their last four games, which has put a noticeable dent in their 9-13 record this season. As for Eastmoor Academy, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won six of their last seven matches, which provided a massive bump to their 10-11 record this season.

Looking ahead, Beechcroft will be taking part in a tournament against Centennial at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Centennial knows how to get points on the board -- the team has finished with 55 points or more in their past five contests -- so hopefully Beechcroft likes a good challenge. As for Eastmoor Academy, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Marion-Franklin at 1:00 p.m. on February 22nd.
