Recap: Kingsway Christian Eagles vs. East Palestine Bulldogs
The Kingsway Christian Eagles's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Saturday after their eighth straight loss. They had to suffer through a rough 71-32 loss at the hands of East Palestine. Kingsway Christian was in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 50-16.
When it comes to explaining why Kingsway Christian lost, one person who can't be blamed is JT Bischoff. Despite the final result, he scored eight points along with five assists. Rhys Bischoff was another key contributor, scoring three points along with four steals.
Leading East Palestine to victory were Kyler Bourne and Drew Bycroft. Bourne dropped a double-double on 13 points and 18 rebounds, while Bycroft scored 18 points along with four steals. The contest was Bourne's third in a row with at least ten points. Another player making a difference was Owen Jurjavicic, who scored 13 points.
Kingsway Christian bumped their record down to 1-9 with that loss, which was their fourth straight on the road. As for East Palestine, the win makes it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 2-3.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Kingsway Christian will be staying on the road on Tuesday to face off against Tuscarawas Central Catholic at 7:30 p.m. on December 19th. Tuscarawas Central Catholic is still on the hunt for that elusive first 'W'. As for East Palestine, they will head out on the road to face off against Wellsville at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
