Softball Recap: Monday's Victory Is Grant's Ninth in Last Ten Outings

Grant gave up the first runs on Monday, but they didn't let that get them down. They walked away with a 9-4 win over the North Muskegon Norsemen.

Payton Shoemaker spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered three earned (and one unearned) runs on three hits and racked up six Ks. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't tossed less than five strikeouts in six consecutive appearances.

At the plate, Alexa Obenauf was incredible, going 3-for-4 with one home run, four RBI, and two runs. That's the most hits she has posted over her last 13 matches. Reese Gragg was another key player, going 1-for-3 with one home run and two RBI.

Grant is on a roll lately: they've won nine of their last ten games. That's provided a nice bump to their 23-7 record this season. As for North Muskegon, their loss dropped their record down to 5-9.

Grant will have a chance to go back-to-back against the Norsemen: the pair will be back at it again later today.
