Baseball Game Preview: Eastlake Wolves vs. Gig Harbor Tides

The Eastlake Wolves will face off against the Gig Harbor Tides at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday. Each of these teams will be fighting to keep a win streak alive as Eastlake comes in on three and Gig Harbor on four.

Eastlake came out on top against Newport - Bellevue on Friday thanks in part to the team's impressive seven-run second inning. The Wolves took their contest against the Knights 12-7.

The team relied heavily on Larson Kohlman, who got on base in four of his five plate appearances with two RBI and one run. That's the most RBI he has posted since back in May of 2025. The team also got some help courtesy of Marcus Frantella, who went 2-for-3 with one RBI.

Meanwhile, it may have taken nine innings to finish the job, but Gig Harbor ultimately got the result they hoped for on Wednesday. They had just enough and edged out Central Kitsap 3-2. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest victory the Tides have posted since May 24, 2025.

Logan Pedersen looked comfortable as he didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only two hits over four innings pitched. He has been consistent: he hasn't given up more than one earned run in seven consecutive appearances.

At the plate, Zach Smith was excellent, going 2-for-3 with one stolen base, one run, and one double. Hudson Smith also deserves some recognition as he hit his first triple of the season.

Gig Harbor's win bumped their record up to 11-7. As for Eastlake, their victory bumped their record up to 15-5.
