Basketball Recap: Rangely Picks Up 11th Straight Win at Home

Rangely put another one in the bag on Friday to keep their perfect season alive. They claimed a resounding 67-33 victory over the De Beque Dragons. The Panthers pushed the score to 59-24 by the end of the third, a deficit the Dragons cut but never quite recovered from.

Rangely was led to victory by Miah Wren and Ashlynn Ducey. Wren went 8 of 18 on her way to 24 points along with seven rebounds and six assists, while Ducey went 11 for 19 on her way to 24 points in addition to five assists and four steals. Those seven boards gave Wren a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Emmeree Wagner, who posted five points and seven rebounds.

Rangely smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 16 offensive boards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least 16 offensive rebounds in three consecutive games.

Despite the loss, De Beque still got an impressive performance from Ava Vines, who went 8 of 14 on her way to 21 points and six rebounds. Vines is trending in the right direction considering she's improved her point production for three straight games. The team also got some help courtesy of Allyson Sandidge, who had five points in addition to seven rebounds and three steals.

Rangely pushed their record up to 3-0 with the win, which was their 11th straight at home dating back to last season. They've dominated over that stretch too, winning by an average of 39 points. As for De Beque, their loss ended a six-game streak of away wins dating back to last season and brought them to 3-2.

Rangely wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next matchup, a 69-41 victory against Dove Creek on the 14th. As for De Beque, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 42-25 win against North Park on the 14th.
