Football Recap: South Salem Comes Up Short + How To Watch

South Salem was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their eighth straight loss. They were a single point away from ending the streak, but they lost a 27-26 heartbreaker at the hands of the North Medford Black Tornado. The Saxons lost against the Black Tornado in their previous head to head back in October of 2024, too, but the margin this time around was much closer than the 49-15 score last time.

When it comes to explaining why South Salem lost, don't look at Kellen Bowman. Despite the final result, he threw for 403 yards and a pair of TDs.

South Salem's defeat dropped their record down to 0-8. As for North Medford, their win (their first of the season) made their record 1-7.

Looking ahead, South Salem is taking a road trip to face off against Willamette at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The Saxons will need to watch out since the Wolverines have now posted at least 31 points in their last three matchups. As for North Medford, they will host South Medford at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The Panthers will roll in looking for their fourth straight victory, something the Black Tornado surely won't give up without a fight.
