Baseball Game Preview: General Brown Lions vs. Carthage Comets

For the second straight game, General Brown will face off against Carthage. The Lions will be playing at home against the Comets at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday.

General Brown will bounce into Thursday's contest after beating Carthage, who they had gone 1-8 against in their nine prior meetings. The Lions walked away with an 8-4 win over the Comets on Tuesday.

Jackson Keefer made a splash while hitting and pitching. On the mound, he struck out seven batters over seven innings while giving up three earned (and one unearned) runs off nine hits. That's the most strikeouts he has posted since back in April. He was also solid in the batter's box, going 1-for-3 with three runs and one stolen base.

In other batting news, Jackson Ward was excellent, going 2-for-4 with two runs, one stolen base, and one RBI. That's the most runs he has posted since back in May of 2025. Another player making a difference was Ben Clement, who went 2-for-3 with one stolen base, one run, and one RBI.

General Brown's victory bumped their record up to 5-7. As for Carthage, they are on a ten-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 1-11.
