Preview: Green Mountain Chieftains vs. Woodstock Wasps
The Green Mountain Chieftains will head out on the road to face off against the Woodstock Wasps at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Green Mountain is still on the hunt for that elusive first 'W'.
Last Friday, Green Mountain was the victim of a rough 43-22 defeat at the hands of Bellows Falls.
Woodstock suffered their biggest loss since December 8, 2023 on Friday. They ended up on the wrong side of a rough 48-25 walloping at the hands of Rivendell Academy. Woodstock's defeat continues an unfortunate trend for the squad, making it three in a row.
Green Mountain bumped their record down to 0-8 with that defeat, which was their sixth straight on the road dating back to last season. As for Woodstock, they have traveled a rocky road recently, as they've lost five of their last six matchups, which put a noticeable dent in their 2-7 record this season.
Everything came up roses for Green Mountain against Woodstock in their previous matchup back in February of 2019 as the squad secured a 59-21 win. The rematch might be a little tougher for Green Mountain since the squad won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
