Softball Game Preview: Pike Red Devils vs. Purdue Polytechnic Techies

The Pike Red Devils will square off against the Purdue Polytechnic Techies at 5:30 p.m. on Thursday. Pike has given up an average of 14.9 runs per game this season, but Thursday's game will give them a chance to turn things around.

Pike fell victim to Brebeuf Jesuit Preparatory and their airtight pitching crew on Wednesday. They came up short against the Braves, falling 18-0. The Red Devils just can't catch a break and have now endured three defeats in a row.

Pike saw five different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Anabelle Posada, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with one double.

Meanwhile, Purdue Polytechnic made easy work of Indianapolis Shortridge on Tuesday and carried off a 16-4 victory. The win continues a trend for the Techies in their matchups with the Blue Devils: they've now won three in a row.

Purdue Polytechnic's victory bumped their record up to 2-3. As for Pike, their loss dropped their record down to 3-6.
