Seneca Valley comes up short despite Jaysen Moise's strong performance

The Seneca Valley Screamin' Eagles pushed their score all the way to 62 on Wednesday, but even that wasn't enough to win. They took a 68-62 hit to the loss column at the hands of Gaithersburg. Despite running the score up even higher than they did in their prior game last Monday (60), Seneca Valley still had to take the loss.

When it comes to explaining why Seneca Valley lost, one person who can't be blamed is Jaysen Moise. Despite the final result, he scored 25 points along with five rebounds and four steals. It was the first time this season that Moise grabbed two or more steals. Korey Trone was another key contributor, scoring 13 points.

Seneca Valley used a slightly different lineup for their bout with Gaithersburg. And. The pair took full advantage of the opportunity: Zach Johnson scored a point along with five rebounds, while he scored seven points along with two steals.

This is the second loss in a row for Seneca Valley and nudges their season record down to 6-13. As for Gaithersburg, the win makes it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 5-10.

Seneca Valley will be playing in front of their home fans against Clarksburg at 7:15 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Gaithersburg, they will square off against Northwest at TBD on Tuesday.
