Baseball Recap: Simpson Academy Wins Going Away Against Brookhaven Academy

Simpson Academy got themselves on the board against Brookhaven Academy on Thursday, but Brookhaven Academy never followed suit. They put the hurt on Brookhaven Academy with a sharp 6-0 victory. The win continues a trend for Simpson Academy in their matchups with Brookhaven Academy: they've now won six in a row.

Brayden Allen made a big impact no matter where he played. On the mound, he didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only a hit while striking out six over five innings pitched. He has become a key player for Simpson Academy: the team is 3-1 when he allows at most three hits, but 1-3 otherwise. Allen was also big at the plate, going 1-for-2 with two RBI.

In other batting news, Barrett McKenney was excellent, scoring a run while going 2-for-3. Another player making a difference was Braden Duncan, who went 2-for-3 with one RBI.

The victory got Simpson Academy back to even at 4-4. As for Brookhaven Academy, they are on a seven-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-3.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Simpson Academy will host Jackson Academy at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Brookhaven Academy will have a little extra prep time after the defeat as they won't be playing again for a while. They'll take on Columbia Academy at 6:30 p.m. on March 18th.
