Softball Game Preview: Delcambre Panthers vs. Logansport Tigers

The Delcambre Panthers will face off against the Logansport Tigers on Wednesday. Both squads will be entering this one on the heels of a big victory.

Delcambre is on a roll after a high-stakes playoff matchup on Saturday. They beat Midland by the very same score they won with in their prior game: 19-1. The victory continues a trend for the Panthers in their matchups with the Rebels: they've now won four in a row.

Meanwhile, Logansport entered their tilt with Captain Shreve on Tuesday with two consecutive wins, and they'll enter their next game with three. They blew past the Gators 17-5.

Ainsley Morvan was a major factor while hitting and pitching. She looked comfortable on the mound, pitching five innings while giving up just two earned (and three unearned) runs off seven hits. Morvan was even better at the plate, going a perfect 4-for-4 with one home run, four runs, and two triples.

In other batting news, Colby Rolfe was incredible, going 3-for-5 with one home run, four runs, and four RBI. With that strong performance, she is now averaging an impressive 2.5 runs per game. The team also got some help courtesy of Kennedi Smith, who got on base in four of her five plate appearances with three runs, one stolen base, and one RBI.

Logansport kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 19 hits. That's the most hits they've managed all season.

Delcambre's record is now 18-12. As for Logansport, their record now sits at 22-11.
