Football Recap: Mortimer Jordan Snaps Four-Game Streak of Losses on the Road + How To Watch

Mortimer Jordan had lost four games on the road dating back to last season, but after bumping their record up to 4-5 on Thursday that streak is in the rearview. They strolled past the Jackson-Olin Mustangs with points to spare, taking the game 28-14. The Blue Devils pushed the score to 28-8 by the end of the third, a deficit the Mustangs cut but never quite recovered from.

Parker Reno had another great game (as he tends to do), rushing for 189 yards and a pair of touchdowns while picking up 8.6 yards per carry. Those 189 rushing yards gave him a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Blaze Neely, who threw for 119 yards and one TD.

They were just one part of a punishing run game: Mortimer Jordan was unstoppable on the ground and finished the game with 234 rushing yards. That's a new trend for them: they were averaging 91.3 rushing yards per game earlier this season, but in their last five games they've averaged 198.

Another reason for the win was Mortimer Jordan's imposing defense, which managed to get into the backfield for three sacks. Leading the way was Conner Carnes with two. He also set a new season-high mark in total tackles with eight.

As for Jackson-Olin, they now have a losing record of 4-5. The defeat continues a trend for them in their meetings with Mortimer Jordan: they've now lost three in a row.

Jackson-Olin's loss shouldn't obscure the performances of Fredrick Reese, who gained 120 total yards, and Javion Jones, who rushed for 52 yards.
