Softball Recap: Lanai's Undefeated Season over After Four Games

If Lanai was riding high fresh off their 28-20 takedown of Molokai on Friday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. Lanai lost 24-14 to Molokai on Saturday. The loss was the Pine Lads' first of the season.

Mahealani Esteban made the most of her time at bat despite the final result and scored two runs and stole a base while getting on base in three of her five plate appearances. She is on a roll when it comes to stolen bases, as she's now snagged at least one in each of the last three games she's played. Aryanna Medriano also deserves some recognition as she got her first hit of the season.

Even though they lost, Lanai always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .545. That was just more of the same: they've now posted an OBP of .545 or higher every time they've taken the field this season.

Having lost for the first time this season, Lanai fell to 3-1. As for Molokai, their victory was their fourth straight on the road dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 1-1.

Coincidentally, Lanai and Molokai will both be playing Hana the next time they take the field. Molokai will head out to face Hana at 3:30 p.m. on Friday, while Lanai will head out to face them at 3:30 p.m. on April 4.
