Baseball Game Preview: Williamsport Millionaires vs. Central Mountain Wildcats

The Williamsport Millionaires will head out to challenge the Central Mountain Wildcats at 4:30 p.m. on Wednesday. Each of these teams will be fighting to keep a win streak alive as Williamsport comes in on four and Central Mountain on seven.

Williamsport proved they can win big on Friday (they won by 15) and on Monday they proved they can win the close ones too. They had just enough and edged out Jersey Shore 10-8. Give some credit to the fans of both teams: the last four times they've met, the home team has come away the winner.

Meanwhile, Central Mountain got the win against Shamokin Area on Monday by a conclusive 13-2. That looming 13-2 mark stands out as the most commanding margin for the Wildcats yet this season.

Nate Wian made a splash while hitting and pitching. He looked comfortable on the mound, pitching two innings while giving up no earned runs off three hits. Wian was even better at the plate, scoring a run while going 4-for-4.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Blake Walker, who scored two runs and stole a base while going 1-for-2. Malaky Moyd also deserves some recognition as he hit his first double of the season.

Central Mountain always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .568. The last time their OBP was this high was back in April of 2024.

Central Mountain pushed their record up to 7-0 with the win, which was their sixth straight on the road dating back to last season. As for Williamsport, the victory was their first at home , bumping their record up to 4-2.

Williamsport couldn't quite finish off Central Mountain when the teams last played two weeks ago and fell 3-1. Can the Millionaires avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
