Football Recap: Starkville Takes a Loss

Starkville faced West Point in a battle between two of the state's top teams on Friday. The Yellowjackets had to suffer through a 48-15 loss at the hands of the Green Wave. The Yellowjackets were in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 34-9.

Although Starkville took the loss, they still got scores from Tiwan Triplett and Latrent Agnew.

Quentin Thompson looked great while leading his team to the win, rushing for 145 yards on only 14 carries, while also picking up 47 receiving yards.

Starkville's loss dropped their record down to 1-1. As for West Point, they have started the season off flawlessly and has a 2-0 record to show for it.

Starkville didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next match, a 44-6 win against Meridian on the 12th. As for West Point, they have also already played their next contest, a 27-20 victory against Noxubee County on the 12th.
