Volleyball Recap: Zumbrota-Mazeppa Takes a Loss

Zumbrota-Mazeppa was the 2-1 winner over Anoka when they last played one another back in October of 2021, but their luck changed this time around. The Cougars took a 2-0 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Tornadoes on Saturday. The Cougars have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back matches.

Ava Lanasa had an outrageously good game for Anoka as she had 16 digs and four aces. That's the most aces Lanasa has posted since back in September.

Zumbrota-Mazeppa's defeat dropped their record down to 8-11. As for Anoka, they have been performing well recently as they've won eight of their last ten matchups. That's provided a massive bump to their 14-10 record this season.

Zumbrota-Mazeppa will square off against Kenyon-Wanamingo at 7:15 p.m. on Monday. As for Anoka, they have already played their next match, a 2-0 victory against Farmington on the 11th.
