Basketball Game Preview: Langtree Charter Academy Lions vs. Christ the King Crusaders

The Langtree Charter Academy Lions will host the Christ the King Crusaders at 6:00 p.m. Expect the scorekeeper to be kept busy: if their previous games are any indication, the two teams will really light up the scoreboard.

It was a proper cat-fight when Langtree Charter Academy faced off against Sugar Creek Charter on Wednesday. Langtree Charter Academy came out on top against Sugar Creek Charter by a score of 65-55.

Langtree Charter Academy can attribute much of their success to Jerel Brawley, who went 6-for-11 on his way to 16 points along with five assists and five steals. Langtree Charter Academy is 4-2 when Brawley posts three or more steals, but 3-14 otherwise. The team also got some help courtesy of Aiden Gelpke, who posted 12 points and five boards.

Meanwhile, Christ the King scored the most points they've had this season on Thursday, but it wasn't enough. They took an 84-77 hit to the loss column at the hands of Greater Cabarrus S. Despite running the score up even higher than they did in their prior game on Tuesday (64), the Crusaders still had to take the loss.

Langtree Charter Academy's win ended an eight-game drought on the road and puts them at 7-16. As for Christ the King, their loss dropped their record down to an identical 7-16.
