Flag Football Recap: Standley Lake Comes Up Short Despite Rae Coronado Coronado's Big Defensive Game

Standley Lake was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their fifth straight defeat. They were six points away from ending the streak, but they lost a 14-8 heartbreaker at the hands of the Evergreen Cougars. The Gators gained 137 more yards on the day, but it was the Cougars that made the best use of them.

Even if they lost, Standley Lake's defense still kept up the pressure with four sacks. Leading the way was Rae Coronado Coronado with two.

Leading Evergreen to victory were Devyn Ellington and Elle Buenning. Ellington gained 100 total yards and a touchdown, while Buenning picked up 102 receiving yards and one touchdown.

Standley Lake's loss dropped their record down to 3-7. As for Evergreen, their victory bumped their record up to 5-3.

The teams didn't have to wait long for a rematch: Standley Lake beat the Cougars by a score of 26-6 later that day.
