Baseball Recap: Biloxi Takes a Loss

If Biloxi was feeling good fresh off their 13-4 takedown of D'Iberville on Friday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Indians took a 10-6 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Warriors on Saturday. The Indians were not able to repeat the success they had when they faced the Warriors earlier this season, when they won 13-4.

Jackson Irvin and Adam Rugg stepped up to the plate in a big way. Irvin went 3-for-4 with two stolen bases, one double, and one RBI, while Rugg went 2-for-4 with one triple, one stolen base, and two RBI. Rugg has been hot recently, having posted at least one stolen base the last four times he's played.

Biloxi's defeat was their fifth straight at home, which dropped their record down to 9-11. As for D'Iberville, they are on a roll lately: they've won four of their last five matchups. That's provided a massive bump to their 10-13 record this season.

Biloxi will head out to challenge St. Martin at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for D'Iberville, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Ocean Springs at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The Greyhounds will roll in looking for their fourth straight win, something the Warriors surely won't give up without a fight.
