            Softball Preview: Auburndale Apaches vs. Edgar Wildcats        
        
		
        
        
            The Auburndale Apaches will take on the Edgar Wildcats at 4:45  p.m.  on Tuesday. Auburndale's pitching crew has only allowed 2.9  runs per game  this season, so Edgar's hitters will have their work cut out for them.
Auburndale's usually-dominant pitching crew will be looking to make up for Saturday's  struggle, when Antigo hitters got past them. The Apaches came up short against  the Red Robins on Saturday, falling  13-1. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest  loss the Apaches have suffered  since March 22, 2024.
Meanwhile, Edgar didn't have quite enough to beat Tomahawk on Saturday and fell  12-11.
  Emery Borchardt was cooking despite her team's loss,   going 2-for-4 with two  doubles, one  run,  and one  RBI. The team also got some help courtesy of  Isabella Kaiser, who  went 1-for-4 with two  runs and one  RBI.
 Edgar has  been struggling recently as they've  lost three of their last four matchups. That's put a noticeable dent in their 13-8 record  this season. As for Auburndale, their defeat  ended  a  17-game streak of away wins  dating back to last season and  brought them to 12-5.
