Volleyball Recap: Lafayette's Win on Saturday Extends Winning Streak to 18

Lafayette strolled into their game on Saturday with a perfect record and they left with the same. They came out on top against the St. Teresa's Academy Stars by a score of 2-0. For the Lancers, this counts as revenge for the 3-2 victory the Stars walked away with the last time they faced one another back in September of 2022.

Lafayette not only won, but also showed off some consistency: they kept St. Teresa's Academy between 17 and 19 points across their sets. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-17, 25-19.

Shaye Witherspoon paced Lafayette's offense, picking up 18 kills. Witherspoon got some help from Hailey Lowery and her 16 assists. Lowery was also solid from the service line: she led the team with two aces.

Lafayette's record is now 12-0. As for St. Teresa's Academy, they dropped their record down to 2-3 with the defeat, which was their sixth straight on the road dating back to last season.

Lafayette didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next matchup, a 2-1 win against Mascoutah on the 13th. As for St. Teresa's Academy, they have also already played their next game, a 2-0 victory against Cor Jesu Academy on the 13th.
