Softball Recap: Monomoy Picks Up Third Consecutive Victory

Monomoy got themselves on the board against Dennis-Yarmouth Regional on Friday, but Dennis-Yarmouth Regional never followed suit. They blew past the Dolphins 12-0. The Sharks might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won 13 contests by nine runs or more this season.

Kinsey Lister made a big impact while hitting and pitching. On the mound, she didn't allow a single earned run while striking out six over five innings pitched. She has been consistent: she hasn't tossed less than five strikeouts in five consecutive appearances. She was also stellar in the batter's box, going 1-for-3 with two runs, one triple, and two RBI.

In other batting news, Kiley Mawn was incredible, going 1-for-3 with three runs, one triple, and one stolen base. She continues to improve, besting her previous run total in each of the last three games she's played. Another player making a difference was Sabrina Bassett, who got on base in all four of her plate appearances with two runs and one RBI.

The victory (which was Monomoy's third in a row) raised their record to 16-5. The wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.7 runs on average over those games. As for Dennis-Yarmouth Regional, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 5-9.

As of now, neither Monomoy nor the Dolphins have any future games scheduled.
