Baseball Game Preview: Cheney Blackhawks vs. University Titans

Cheney is on a five-game streak of home losses, and University a four-game streak of away losses. However, someone's due for a change in luck on Friday. The Cheney Blackhawks will welcome the University Titans at 4:00 p.m. Given that the two teams suffered a loss in their last games, they both have a little extra motivation heading into this match.

Cheney fought the good fight in their extra-innings contest against Shadle Park on Thursday but wound up with a less-than-desirable result. They fell 7-3 to the Highlanders.

Cheney saw six different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Chris Wilson, who went 2-for-3 with one stolen base and one RBI. Jacob Ulrich was another, going 2-for-4 with one double and one RBI.

Meanwhile, University came up short against Central Valley on Thursday, falling 9-3.

Cheney's loss dropped their record down to 5-13. As for University, their defeat dropped their record down to 12-6.

Everything went Cheney's way against University in their previous matchup back in May of 2024, as Cheney made off with a 7-0 victory. Will the Blackhawks repeat their success, or do the Titans have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
