Football Recap: Northern Valley Huskies vs. Weskan Coyotes

In Friday's Canine Competition, Northern Valley couldn't get it done. They took a 47-40 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Weskan Coyotes on Friday. The Huskies were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Coyotes apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in October of 2021.

Weskan found their leader in underclassman Karsyn Wright, who rushed for 113 yards and five touchdowns on only 14 carries. With that strong performance, Wright is now averaging an impressive 2.2 rushing touchdowns per game. Weskan also got help from Trey Allen, who showed off his sure hands for 142 receiving yards.

Northern Valley has traveled a rocky road recently having lost four of their last five matches, which put a noticeable dent in their 2-5 record this season. As for Weskan, the win for them keeps them at an undefeated 7-0.

Northern Valley is taking a road trip to square off against Western Plains at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Northern Valley is facing Western Plains at the right time seeing as Western Plains is stuck on a three-game losing streak. As for Weskan, they will welcome Triplains/Brewster on Friday. The timing is sure in Weskan's favor as the team sits on six straight wins at home (dating back to last season) while Triplains/Brewster has been banged up by four consecutive losses on the road.
