It can be hard to translate regular season success to the playoffs, but Decatur had no problem doing just that on Friday. They walked away with a 3-1 victory over the La Vernia Bears. Winning may never get old, but the Eagles sure are getting used to it with their sixth in a row.

Decatur had a slow start but a hot finish: after dropping the first set, they turned around to win the next three. The final score came out to 19-25, 25-20, 25-18, 26-24.

When it comes to explaining why La Vernia lost, don't look at Karis Carpenter. Despite the final result, she had 20 digs and seven assists. Avery Pitus also deserves some recognition as she had her first block of the season.
