Football Recap: Canyon Comanches vs. Cerritos Dons
The Canyon Comanches didn't have quite enough to beat the Cerritos Dons on Thursday and fell 31-28. The Comanches have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.
Despite the loss, Canyon still got an impressive performance from Alexander Lundsberg, who threw for 357 yards and three touchdowns, and also rushed for 47 yards. The bulk of those rushing yards came from one huge play: a run that gained an incredible 60 yards.
Cerritos had a senior duo take command as Jayden Bagaygay gained 130 total yards and two touchdowns and Justin Sagun rushed for 89 yards and one TD on only six carries.
Canyon now has a losing record of 2-3. As for Cerritos, they now have a winning record of 3-2.
Canyon will get a bit of extra time to process the defeat as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on El Toro at 7:00 p.m. on the 3rd. The two teams might be coming in a bit winded given these two teams combined for 893 yards in their previous games. As for Cerritos, they didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next matchup, a 53-17 victory against Wilson on the 25th.
