Flag Football Game Preview: Albertville Aggies vs. Austin Black Bears + Official Tickets

The Albertville Aggies will face off against the Austin Black Bears at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The two teams have allowed few points on average (Albertville 9.6, Austin 2.9) so any points scored will be well earned.

Albertville is coming in fresh off a high-stakes matchup with another one of Alabama's top teams: Boaz, who was ranked sixth at the time (Albertville was ranked 17th). The Aggies took a 19-6 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Pirates on Thursday. The Aggies have been going strong on the season, but this is now their second loss in a row.

Albertville didn't go easy on the quarterback and picked off four passes before the game was over. Bethany Strickland led the group effort, picking up two of those interceptions all by herself. Journey Williams was another major factor on D, picking up two sacks, making seven total tackles, and defending one pass.

Meanwhile, Austin strolled into their game on Thursday with a perfect record and they left with the same. They took their matchup with ease, bagging a 38-0 victory over Grissom. Fans of the Black Bears have seen this all before: every one of the games they've played this season has ended in a blowout of 20+ points.

Austin's win came from a few key players Albertville will need to keep an eye on. One of the most notable was Autumn Cassidy, who threw for 164 yards and four TDs, and also rushed for 35 yards. Cassidy is crushing it when it comes to passing touchdowns: she's passed for at least three every time she's taken the field this season. Aundrea Boyd was Cassidy's top target, picking up 35 receiving yards and a pair of scores.

Austin's win bumped their record up to 11-0. As for Albertville, their defeat dropped their record down to 12-5.
