Softball Recap: South Fort Myers Comes Up Short

South Fort Myers extended their losing streak to five on Tuesday, dropping their season record down to 2-15 in the process. They lost 26-11 to the Dunbar Tigers. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Tigers this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 21-11 last Tuesday.

Ja'Liyah Ward was cooking despite her team's loss, going 1-for-2 with one triple and one run. Another player making a difference was Jerzi Nace, who went 2-for-3 with two runs and one double.

As for Dunbar, their victory ended a five-game drought on the road and puts them at 4-12. That 15 run margin sets a new team best for them this season.

On Dunbar's side, Emanie Rosiaste was a standout: she went 4-for-5 with three stolen bases, two triples, and five RBI. Rosiaste is on a roll when it comes to stolen bases, as she's now snagged at least one in each of the last four games she's played. Arnya Jackson was another key player, going 3-for-4 with one home run, six RBI, and two stolen bases.

South Fort Myers wasted no time getting back out on the field and has already played their next match, a 26-10 loss against Estero on the 23rd. As for Dunbar, they have also already played their next contest, a 23-12 defeat against Everglades City on the 23rd.
