            Basketball Recap: Glastonbury Guardians vs. Enfield Eagles        
        
		
        
        
            Glastonbury lost to Enfield  back in January of 2024, but they didn't allow them the same satisfaction on Friday. The Glastonbury Guardians blew past the Enfield Eagles 63-36. Given the Guardians' advantage  in MaxPreps' Connecticut basketball rankings  (they are ranked 13th, while the Eagles are ranked 69th), the result  wasn't entirely unexpected.

Glastonbury got their  win on the backs of several key players, but it was  David Smith out in front who  almost  dropped  a double-double on 17  points and nine  boards. Smith is  crushing it when it comes to  points: he's   scored at least 15 every time he's  taken the court this season. The team also got some help courtesy of  Mike Carroll, who  dropped  a double-double on 13 points and 11  rebounds.
 Glastonbury  smashed the offensive glass and  finished the game with 11  offensive boards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now  pulled down at least nine  offensive rebounds in six consecutive  contests.
Glastonbury's victory was  their fifth straight on the road dating back to last season, which  pushed their record up to 8-1. As for Enfield, they moved to 3-4 with that  loss, which also ended their three-game winning streak.
Glastonbury will have a chance to go back-to-back against Enfield: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled  at 5:30  p.m.  on Tuesday.
