Baseball Recap: Alhambra Comes Up Short

Alhambra entered their matchup against Dublin on Wednesday without any home losses, but there's a first time for everything. The Bulldogs took a 7-3 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Gaels. The Bulldogs were not able to make up for their defeat to the Gaels from their previous meeting back in April of 2022.

Alhambra saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Ismael Rivera Parra, who scored a run and stole a base while going 1-for-3. Rivera Parra has been hot recently, having posted at least one stolen base the last four times he's played. Diego Mata also deserves some recognition as he snagged his first stolen base of the season.

Alhambra's loss dropped their record down to 10-4. As for Dublin, the victory (which was their fourth in a row) raised their record to 14-2.

Looking ahead, Alhambra will take on Clayton Valley Charter at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The Ugly Eagles' pitching crew has only allowed 1.8 runs per game this season, so the Bulldogs' hitters will have their work cut out for them. As for Dublin, they will host Livermore at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
