Baseball Recap: Merrill Comes Up Short

Tuesday just wasn't the day for Merrill's offense. They fell just short of the Wausau East Lumberjacks by a score of 2-0 on Tuesday. Having soared to a lofty ten runs in the game before, the Bluejays' shutout was a dramatic turnaround.

Merrill's defeat ended a three-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 8-8. As for Wausau East, they have been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 7-8 record this season.

Merrill wasted no time getting back out on the field and has already played their next contest, a 6-3 win against Marshfield on the 7th. Hopefully Wausau East paid attention to the Bluejays' game: the next time they hit the field, they'll take on the Bluejays at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday.
