Softball Game Preview: Morse Shipbuilders vs. Mt. Ararat Eagles

The Morse Shipbuilders will face off against the Mt. Ararat Eagles at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Morse has now lost seven straight, leaving the team hunting for their first win since April 11.

Morse fell victim to Medomak Valley and their airtight pitching crew on Monday. They lost 17-0 to the Panthers.

Mt. Ararat never got on the board in their matchup on Friday, but that sure wasn't the case in their game against Lincoln Academy on Monday. They came out on top against Lincoln Academy by a score of 13-8. Considering Mt. Ararat's hitters had been struggling lately, the high-scoring outing was a much-needed turnaround.

Mt. Ararat got a massive performance out of Kamryn Chase, who went a perfect 5-for-5 with two runs, one double, and one RBI. Emma Graffam was another key player, going 3-for-5 with three runs, one triple, and one RBI.

They weren't the only ones making solid contact: Mt. Ararat kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 20 hits. That's the most hits they've managed all season.

Mt. Ararat moved to 2-5 with that victory, which also ended their three-game losing streak. As for Morse, their defeat dropped their record down to 1-8.

Morse might still be hurting after the 21-11 loss they got from Mt. Ararat in their previous matchup back in May of 2025. Can the Shipbuilders avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
