Softball Recap: Tuesday's Win Is George Jenkins' Fourth in Last Five Outings

While George Jenkins put up some runs on Tuesday, the same can't be said for Mulberry. The Eagles didn't even let the Panthers on the board, marking the Eagles' second-straight 10-0 shutout. Considering the Eagles have won nine games by more than five runs this season, Tuesday's blowout was nothing new.

The team relied heavily on Kamryn Pickering, who went a perfect 3-for-3 with one home run, five RBI, and three runs. That's the most runs she has posted since back in February. The team also got some help courtesy of Mackenzie Mathers, who went 2-for-3 with three RBI and one run.

George Jenkins was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .500. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Mulberry only posted a batting average of .167.

George Jenkins is on a roll lately: they've won four of their last five contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 13-8 record this season. The victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 9.8 runs over those games. As for Mulberry, their defeat ended a four-game streak of away wins and brought them to 12-9.

George Jenkins has already played their next match, a 10-0 loss against Lake Wales on the 16th. As for Mulberry, they also wasted no time getting back out on the field and have already played their next game, an 18-0 win against Kathleen on the 17th.
