Volleyball Game Preview: Wilson Central Wildcats vs. Blackman Blaze

The Wilson Central Wildcats will challenge the Blackman Blaze at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Both come into the matchup bolstered by wins in their previous matches.

On Monday, Wilson Central was able to grind out a solid victory over Riverdale, taking the game 3-1. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Wildcats.

Wilson Central was actually outscored in aggregate across those four sets (89-87), but they still managed to win. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-23, 25-21, 12-25, 25-20.

Meanwhile, Blackman got the win against Rockvale on Thursday by a conclusive 3-0. The Blaze haven't had any issues with Rockvale recently, as the game was their sixth consecutive win against them.

Not only was the match a shutout, it was a big one: Blackman took every set by at least 11 points. The match finished with set scores of 25-14, 25-9, 25-11.

Wilson Central better focus on containing AnnMarie Hebden and Annabelle Grissom as the pair were huge in Blackman's win. Hebden had five digs and three aces, while Grissom had five digs and five assists. That's the most aces Hebden has posted since back in August. Jordan Krise also deserves some recognition as she had her first block of the season.

Blackman was lethal from the service line and finished the match with 14 aces. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now served at least five aces in five consecutive contests.

Wilson Central's victory bumped their record up to 7-12. As for Blackman, their win bumped their record up to 16-6.
