Baseball Recap: Anderson Drops Season-High Score on Madeira

Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Anderson). Everything went their way against the Madeira MUSTANGS/AMAZONS on Tuesday as they made off with a 19-2 victory. Perhaps unsurprisingly given the team's high-flying offense, the game also marked the team's biggest win of the season.

Mason Glen looked comfortable as he didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only two hits while striking out nine over four innings pitched. Those nine strikeouts gave him a new career-high.

At the plate, Eric Fleetwood was incredible, firing off two home runs and four RBI while going 3-for-4. That's the most home runs he has posted over his last 12 matchups. The team also got some help courtesy of Nick Rosiello, who went 3-for-4 with four RBI, two runs, and one double.

Anderson hit smart and finished the game with only two strikeouts. The team has now struck out at least four batters in six consecutive games.

Anderson pushed their record up to 10-7 with the victory, which was their third straight on the road. Those road wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 12.7 runs over those games. As for Madeira, they moved to 15-6 with that defeat, which also ended their three-game winning streak.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Anderson will square off against Walnut Hills at 5:00 p.m. on Wednesday. As for Madeira, they will challenge Reading at 5:00 p.m. on Wednesday. The two teams have allowed few runs on average (the MUSTANGS/AMAZONS 4, the Blue Devils 3.7) so any runs scored will be well earned.
