Basketball Game Preview: Midway Raiders vs. Clinton Dark Horses

The Midway Raiders will challenge the Clinton Dark Horses at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. The timing is sure in Midway's favor as the team sits on five straight wins at home (dating back to last season) while Clinton has been banged up by ten consecutive losses on the road also dating back to last season.

Last Friday, Midway opened the new year with a less-than-successful 54-47 defeat to Lakewood. The loss put an end to the Raiders' undefeated start to the season.

Meanwhile, Clinton was beaten by Lakewood 69-35 on Monday. While losing is never fun, the Dark Horses can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' North Carolina basketball rankings (they are ranked 614th, while the Leopards are ranked 162nd).

Clinton's loss dropped their record down to 2-8. As for Midway, their defeat ended a four-game streak of away wins and brought them to 8-1.

Midway took their win against Clinton in their previous matchup back in February of 2024 by a conclusive 63-41. Does Midway have another victory up their sleeve, or will Clinton turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
